WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
We are a movement... in an effort to build up our home, our community, our Stompin' Groundz.
Vision: Community as the driving force of innovation in their own neighborhoods.
The Stompin' Groundz Pledge to the People: We will nourish the identity and culture of Southeast Colorado Springs by connecting residents to opportunities, happenings, and to one another.
Founder of Stompin' Groundz; Juelz Ramirez, grew up in Pikes Peak Park and has made it her mission connect the residents of her community to the resources and the opportunities that the rest of the city has been thriving off of.
WHAT WE DO
Until Stompin' Groundz opens its doors as a coffee shop, we will exist as a community connector.
Daily Dose 719 is a video series that seeks to educate and empower the residents of Southeast Colorado Springs, CO.
For the 2020 season, we are working on The Southeast Street Art Project in an effort to highlight the culture of the community through public displays of art.
WHY SOUTHEAST COLORADO SPRINGS
In 2018 and 2019 Colorado Springs was ranked number 1 in U.S. News and World Report's "Most Desirable places to live" despite the fact that there are pockets throughout the city that are disadvantaged compared to the rest of the city.
The "Southeast"is made up of several neighborhoods and has the most diverse population compared to the rest of the city. It also faces disinvestment, high crime, and poverty.
Over the last few years it has become "in" to focus on communities like Southeast COS and opportunities and development has been booming, so it is more important that ever for residents to drive the change that is to come.
