About the event
A Poetry Slam is a poetry competition where poets will perform poems up to three minutes in length in front of an audience for the prize of bragging rights. The winner will be decided by a slate of competent community judges on a scale from 0 to 10.
The audience is encouraged to make some noise to help judges know which poem is most deserving of points, but the point is not the points. The point is the people, so join Poetry 719 and Pikes Peak Arts Council in celebrating community and poetry at an event that caps off April, National Poetry Month.
